Years later we meet Max, one of the escapees who now works for a messenger service in the post-apocalyptic Pacific Northwest. In a future of political, economic and moral collapse, a genetically enhanced superhuman prototype named Max escapes from military confines and dwells amidst the decadent underground street life of *Seattle* to avoid government agents who want to bring her back into the fold. Searching for others of her kind who were scattered in the aftermath of her escape, Max encounters Logan, an idealistic cyber-journalist battling repression and corruption in post-apocalypse America. Eventually, Logan calls her to the highest part of her being and Max becomes his samuraithe pair takes on the ruthless power-brokers of the new millennium. Max and Logan&#39;s odyssey leads them closer to the secret of her past, deepening and complicating their relationship in the process. Dark Angel started off full of promise. However, just like most contemporary American television, producers seem to think that good looking actresses make for good viewing. They don&#39;t.<br/><br/>Dark Angel suffered from about the second or third episode into the second season, and the television networks did well to drop it like the proverbial plague. Bad storylines coupled with poor acting made this one of the worst shows ever. Even &quot;The Simpson&quot; has better acting, and they&#39;re all celluloid!<br/><br/>I think Cameron should have made Dark Angel a movie rather than a television series. He should have spent more on a script and drafted a decent actress. And it was scandalous how they dropped John Savage without warning - he was definitely one of the highlights of the show.<br/><br/>Bring back Dark Angel? No, let it die in peace. Lots of good moments, but sadly far too many duff ones. There was also too much stereotyping. Main star (Alba) is eye candy, then there&#39;s the black girl friend with &quot;yo mama&quot; speech built-in, and a nerdy type (Eyes Only). Pur-lease! Show some originality! This typecasting was evident in Knight Rider of the 1980&#39;s…why, oh why, are producers still coming out with formulaic stuff? Especially when it fails to work. This isn&#39;t the best show out there, but it is pretty good. The writing is OK (if a bit predictable) and the acting passes(nothing special), but the real reason to watch is Jessica Alba. She does a superb job and I never got bored with the show, which is unusual for me. <br/><br/>I can&#39;t figure out why they would cancel it, it had tons of viewers, but if you are looking for more you can read several books that were written continuing the story. For those hoping it will come back you are out of luck because it has been years now since it was canceled, but i still haven&#39;t given up hope of a feature film sometime in the future.<br/><br/>Bottom line: If you are looking for a short entertaining show and you like Alba, this one&#39;s for you.
